My classroom...

I am quite excited for the beginning of the school year! There isn't any project work hanging from the ceiling so it looks bare to me!! :) Hope you enjoy!

Please excuse the fact that some of the signs are not "straight." This is my center choice board. The kids have name tags that hang on the hooks.

I am super proud of my new chair pockets! My sweet mother made them! They are all blue canvas but they have different color polka-dot ribbon for each table!

  3. Hi! Your room looks great! What did you use to put the names on the tables? It looks like stickers....do they come off easily? I love the look of it and would like to do it in my classroom! Thanks!

  5. Thanks so much ladies!!! :)
Abby--my mom just went through trial and error to make them. She didn't have a pattern. :(
Jacy--I just use a big sharpie to write their names on the table. I've tried just about everything and the cutsie name tags that you can get, just don't stay on or look good after a few days. And you can't just use any permanent marker, it will wash off after you clean...get a giant sharpie! :)

    1. what do you use to change the names year after year if it's in Sharpie?

    2. Sharpies may say permanent, but with time and repeated washing the table, it will wear off. If all else fails, use an eraser. I do that on my pill bottle caps all the time.

    3. Dry erase marker also removes permanent marker. Just color over top and erase! :)

    4. Mr. Clean Magic Erasers take permanent marker off too.

    5. Fingernail polish remover works as well (may be harsh on varnish?)

  7. Your room does look great.. it reminds me a little of my kindergarten room. My bookshelves are all polka dotted too and my whole room is primary colors. SO cute! You did a great job. Where do you teach if you don't mind me asking? I saw where you said you were going to do a school blog. I did one last year and really liked it. I would love to follow your school blog too!

  18. I just love the Sharpie names on the tables! I am GOING to do this. And, I know that magic erasers get it off with a little rubbing. Thanks for the super idea!

  19. Use an expo dry erase marker! It takes sharpie off of anything. Try it. You will be amazed!!!

  20. I wasn't very clear. Sorry. Write on the desk with the sharpie. When you want to remove it, color over the sharpie with an Expo Dry Erase Marker and be quick to have a paper towel or old rag to wipe it off quick. As long as you're quick, the sharpie marker will come off....of anything (plastics, tables, laminated charts,) It's amazing. A really cool trick.
